DemoScout Documentation
1. After starting the application you see the main screen.

2. You can select your language in the red-marked select-field.

3. Define a hotkey. Pressing this hotkey captures the current screen and the mouseposition is stored.

4. After pressing Assign Key the new hotkey will be ready for use.

5. Select the application, which you want to record.

6. If you started the application after starting DemoScout, the application is not yet shown in the list. In this case you need to update the list by pressing Refresh.

7. When you have finished selecting the application, please klick Start.

8. Now you simply work with the application you want to capture. Each time you press the hotkey, the current Window and the current postition of the mouse is stored (Capture).
The lenght of the gap between two captures in the video can be adjusted in the popup window. The pictures are animated in the following way: the mousecursor moves to the position, then there is a break of a few pictures, then the new content of the window is shown. Thats why the moves seem very natural.

The lenght of the gap in pictures can be adjusted by changing the value of "Offset" in the popup window.
With the Return-Button the mouse-cursor is set to the position of the last capture. This is quite useful if keboard input needs to be simulated.
Example:
Frame has a value of 50. Now, to enter input from the keyboard an inputfield is klicked. To make it look natural, the value of Frame needs to be adjusted. If you wanted to change this setting, you would need to move the mouse to the popup window and this way the mouse would look shifted in the video. Thats why you change the value of Frame and simply click Return afterwards. The mouse cursor is now exactly on the position it was before during the last capture. Now it is possible to record every single key-press with a gap of 10 frames. The results will surely be quite convincing.
If you cannot see the popup window or you have intentionally closed it, you can reactivate it by clicking Pop up from the main window.

9. When you have finished then go to DemoScout main window and click Stop.

10. In the Info - area you are given some details.

11. Now you can open the created file with the .FLA extension in Macromedia Flash. This file is saved to a new subfolder called sessionX in the DemoScout - folder. Let's assume DemoScout was installed to C:\Program Files\DemoScout the complete path to the example above would be: C:\Program Files\DemoScout\session4\destinationFLA4.fla.
12. Now switch to the library and select the unnecessary bitmaps. You can see in the info - area (Step 10), which ones are dispensable. In our example all above 50 are of that kind.

12. Now klick the little dustbin on the bottom left side. This way these grafics are deleted.

13. Now mark the remaining grafics.

14. Select from the upper right the menu Options and the the menu item Refresh ....

15. The Refresh - dialog pops up.

16. Now klick the Button Refresh.

17. Now close the dialog.
18. Select the first unnecessary picture from the upper lane of the timeline. In the info-area (step 10) you can see them displayed. In our example from picture 702 onwards.

19. Now go to the end of the timeline and select the last picture of the lower lane while holding down the shift-key. This way all pictures are selected.

20. From the menu Insert select the menu item Delete Picture.

21. With this operation you delete all dispensable pictures. From the menu Modify select the menu item Video .... This dialog pops up.

22. Klick on Content to adjust the video to the appropriate size.

23. You can customize the framerate. Reasonable values are between 10 and 30 BpS.

Finished!
Now you have got a flash - file which is freely editable. Everything is possible if it's supported by Macromedia Flash - and that's quite a lot.
